What if the HPV vaccine administration schedule became simpler again? This is what the World Health Organization (WHO) suggests. In December 2022, the UN agency declared that a single dose “may offer efficacy and duration of protection comparable to a two-dose regimen” for girls aged 9-20. For older people, two doses would still be needed.

WHO experts base themselves on several recent studies to record this change, and in particular Indian work in which the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) participated.
