More than 600 people accessed unemployment insurance from Infonavit

From January to June of this year, a total of 677 people in Tlaxcala with a valid loan from the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) were benefited with Unemployment Insurance (Payment Protection Fund)which allowed them to keep their financing current and avoid putting their assets at risk.

The foregoing represented support for more than 6 million pesos since, thanks to Unemployment Insurance (Payment Protection Fund), people who lost their employment relationship only had to pay 10 percent of their monthly Infonavit Credit plus commissions and the remaining 90 percent was covered by said fund.

This benefit, which covers most of the monthly credit, lasts for six months and can be used by workers whenever they need it, as long as the period between one application and another is five years.

Requirements to apply for Unemployment Insurance (Payment Protection Fund): Having contracted the credit from 2009; Having had a salaried employment relationship for at least six months prior to its use; Have at least one month without formal employment, as long as it is not due to pension, disability or invalidity.

The steps for this procedure are to enter My Infonavit Account (micuenta.infonavit.org.mx), in the My credit section, Balances and Movements section; Check the amount and months of the “FPP” available; Make the payment of the indicated amount.

To access other Payment Solutions, borrowers can go to the nearest Infonavit Service Center (Cesi) or call Infonatel (800 008 3900) to receive advice and determine the one that is best for them.

Other Payment Solutions that the accredited in the entity accessed, from January to June 2023 were the Total Extension with 1,213 beneficiaries; Mediations, 218 beneficiaries: Restructuring, 2,039 beneficiaries.

Finally, it is noteworthy that since its creation in 1972 to date, the agency has placed more than 72,000 credits in Tlaxcala.
