Watan Al-Youm: The deadline for announcing the winners of the Orange Award for Community Development Projects at the local level is approaching, as the ten projects that qualified for the final stage presented their ideas to the jury specialized in the entrepreneurial and community fields, to be evaluated in an effort to win the award launched by Orange Jordan in its seventh local edition, out of 97 projects. Advanced, within the Orange Group International Competition (OSVP 2023).

The OSVP Award is one of Orange’s initiatives that seeks to support prototypes and companies in the growth stage that are influential and that harness technology to provide feasible solutions to societal and environmental challenges in the most important fields, primarily health, agriculture, education, energy, trade and industry.

The names of the winners will be announced at the end of this month, after studying and evaluating the ten projects to select 3 winning projects, which is what the jury did to select the finalists from the 97 advanced projects, based on specific international criteria, the most important of which is the societal impact as well as the possibility of application, expansion and sustainability. and others.

The winning project in the first place in the local version will receive a prize of 5 thousand dinars, followed by 3 thousand dinars for the second place and 2 thousand dinars for the third place. The winners will also qualify to participate in the international version, the value of which is the first prize of 25 thousand euros, the second 15 thousand euros, and the third 10 thousand euros. In addition to the award of projects established by women with a value of 20 thousand euros, which was won by the Jordanian company iRole last year.

Regarding the importance of the award, Orange Jordan confirmed that it is keen to provide this opportunity for innovative youth every year, believing in their active role in sustainable development and enabling those who use technology to develop solutions that are expandable and attractive to investors in order to achieve economic and social growth and contribute to preserving the environment.

The company added: “The Orange Award for Community Development Projects provides opportunities to obtain expert advice, financial support, as well as a wide network that distinguishes Orange, and this is an integrated approach to support entrepreneurial projects, which we adopt with our partners to develop the entrepreneurial system. We were pleased with the huge number of advanced projects at the level of Jordan, and we look forward to announcing the winners, and we will continue our efforts to support leadership.”

The judging panel for the local version is composed of Eng. Nidal Al-Bitar, Executive Director of the Jordanian Information and Communication Technology Association (Intaj), Fidaa Al-Taher, Managing Partner of Emam Investment Fund, Dima Bibi, CEO of Injaz, Ghadeer Khuffash, Executive Director of the Jordan Education for Employment Foundation Samar Dudin, Regional Director and Program Director at Development Pioneers – Jordan, Dr. Yazan Al-Zein, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Jordan, and Eng. Rana Dababneh, Executive Director of Corporate Communication and Sustainability at Orange Jordan.
