Chennai: Tamil Nadu People’s Welfare Minister Ma Subramanian has said that it has been decided to take legal action to remove NEET and to meet all party leaders if the Union Home Minister gives permission.

The resolution passed in the Tamil Nadu Assembly seeking exemption from NEET examination was forwarded to the Governor for the approval of the President. The resolution has not yet been sent to the president. Chief Minister Stalin announced in the Assembly that an all-party meeting would be held today (Jan. 08) to discuss this.

Accordingly, at an all-party meeting chaired by Chief Minister Stalin, Minister Ma Subramaniam, DMK’s Thuraimurugan, DMK’s Vijayabaskar, Congress’ richest man, BJP’s Vanathi Srinivasan, BJP GK Mani of the BJP, Sadan Thirumalaikumar of the MDMK, Chinthana Selvan of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and Jawaharlal Nehru of the Humanitarian People’s Party were present. Vanathi Srinivasan walked out of the meeting protesting the resolution.

Then Subramanian said: In the field of medicine, Tamil Nadu is a pioneer state for India. Tamil Nadu students have been severely affected by the NEET exam. It was decided at today’s meeting that after consulting with senior legal experts, all the parties in the Tamil Nadu Assembly would work together to take legal action to remove NEET’s selection completely, and that if the Union Home Minister calls on him to consider the request we have already made, all party committees will go and meet him.

It was decided that all efforts should be made to make all the states realize the disadvantages of NEET examination. The legal battle to remove NEET is important. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has admitted that there is politics in this election. Not only the people of Tamil Nadu but also other states have protested.

The BJP has opposed the resolution. This was recorded by the Chief Minister. According to the AK Rajan team, 15 per cent of Tamil-educated students have benefited from medical admissions, which has dropped to 2 per cent after the extension. It is the will of the people of Tamil Nadu to cancel the extension.

AIADMK’s Vijayabaskar expressed full support for the resolution brought today and said that he should meet Amit Shah again. This was accepted by the Chief Minister. Thus said Minister Ma. Subramanian.
