Time.news – At least seven people died following a huge car accident in southern Brazil: dozens of Trucks crashed against each other, also involving many private cars. The maxi rear-end collision would have been caused by weather conditions of the area, where it was raining and there was a thick fog. The incident occurred in the afternoon near the Sao Luiz do Puruna neighborhood in Balsa Nova, a municipality in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, in the state of Paranà.
According to a preliminary report by the traffic police, at least seven people died in the serious accident, but the toll could be provisional and the number of injured is not known. The authorities have not yet disclosed the number of vehicles involved, but there are talks of more than twenty, mostly trucks, at least one of which caught fire.

The videos released on social media show shocking images of the accident, with the cars completely crushed by the trucks, which due to their heavy load were unable to brake and avoid the impact. A bus carrying the Londrina football club’s U-17 team and coaching staff was also involved in the collision but fortunately none of the 29 people on board were killed or injured, the club said in a statement.
