Xiaomi has listed four popular Redmi and Poco smartphones on the End of Support (EoS) list. According to Day.Az with reference to Gazeta.ru, these devices will no longer receive any software updates, according to the XiaomiUI portal.

Among the smartphones that have joined the EoS list are the budget Redmi 9 Prime, Redmi 9C NFC, Poco M2 Pro, as well as the flagship Redmi K30 Ultra. Now these gadgets of the company will no longer receive security patches, updates to the Android operating system and the MIUI shell.

The refusal of software support from the manufacturer jeopardizes the security of users and the safety of data stored on smartphones. Due to the lack of updates, unsupported devices will not be able to fix vulnerabilities that could be exploited by attackers in the future.

Owners of outdated smartphones are advised to change devices to more modern ones or use proven custom firmware from enthusiasts with up-to-date security patches.

In August, Xiaomi completely dropped support for three popular smartphones, putting them on the End of Life (EoL) list. These devices lost not only updates, but also the possibility of repair in official service centers.
