Multiple Cars and Environmental House Set on Fire in Rosengård

During Sunday evening, emergency services responded to a series of car fires in the Rosengård area. Police were called to assist the emergency services at the scene.

According to police spokesperson Patric Fors, several cars and an environmental house were on fire when they arrived. In order to allow the rescue services to extinguish the fires without disturbance, multiple police resources were deployed.

Fors stated that there were reports of people throwing stones at police vehicles, but as of now, there have been no reported injuries.

The unrest in Rosengård began earlier in the day with another incident of Koran burning. Fors couldn’t confirm if the fires in Rosengård were connected to this incident but mentioned that social concerns have been raised. The police have maintained a significant presence in the area all day to handle the situation.

In an effort to prevent crime and gather information about the people moving in the area, the police announced the use of drones for surveillance earlier in the evening.

When asked if the decision to use drones was influenced by the Koran burning, Fors emphasized that it was primarily a precautionary measure to curb any potential unrest before it escalates.

The situation in Rosengård is still developing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
