Watan Al-Youm: The Hashemite Fund for the Development of the Jordanian Badia, in cooperation with the Islamic Relief Society around the world, organized today, Monday, a course to introduce the basic skills needed for how to provide first aid to the nomads in the Al-Hasa region.

Jamal Trad Al-Fayez, Director of the Fund, said that the course comes within the framework of the medical care program emanating from the study conducted by the Fund, which aims to identify the most important requirements and needs of the nomadic Bedouins, and to complement the health activities previously implemented by the Fund to serve the people of the Jordanian Badia.

Al-Fayez explained that the course aims to introduce the nomadic participants to the basic skills in first aid, and to understand and know ways to deal with many emergency cases that need urgent and speedy action until the arrival of the medical staff or the transfer of the injured to the hospital.

And the director of the fund stated that training in providing first aid is not only limited to saving the life of the injured, but rather helps to reduce the possibility of complications or permanent disability for the patient, and on the contrary, when someone volunteers to provide assistance in a wrong way, this may lead to doubling the injury or worsening the condition, Therefore, this course came to train participants in first aid skills in the correct and optimal manner, especially since the Bedouins move in the depths of the desert, far from medical and health centers.

The course, in which 22 people participated, deals with topics, defining first aid and how to administer it for adults and children, distinguishing between types of first aid and knowing how to provide first aid for burns, fractures, bleeding, stings, spasms, etc., and the necessary action in emergency situations and accidents of all kinds.

At the end of the course, medical bags were distributed to the participants, containing the basic supplies needed by the paramedic to deal with injuries and illnesses.

It is noteworthy that the Islamic Relief Society around the world provides its humanitarian services in various regions of the Kingdom, and is considered a strategic partner of the Fund in implementing many programs and initiatives that it works on to serve the people of Jordan.
