Carlos Verona’s has been one of the most resonant names in the market due to how flexible his situation has been. He was linked to multiple rumors, but in the end he will not continue with the Movistar Team to go to Lidl-Trek.

Carlos Verona. 2023 Tour of Italy. Stage 13: Borgofranco d’Ivrea – Crans-Montana. 19.5.2023.

After 5 seasons, he will close his cycle with the telephone teams, where he has stood out for his honorable work as a gregarious person and for being one of the most sensible runners in the Navarrese squad. This was confirmed in an Instagram post.

“They have been precious years, of a lot of sporting and personal growth and surrounded by a brutal group of people, especially the staff that make this team a great little family,” he wrote.

He is currently in the Tour of Britain, which could well be his last competition wearing the ‘M’ on his chest.

Its history in 2023 has given something to talk about. Months ago he had agreed with INEOS, but it was known a few weeks ago that the agreement had fallen due to the eventual arrival of Remco Evenepoel -which does not seem to materialize-, which even opened the possibility that he would renew with those of Unzué. It was not the case, because he ended up accepting Trek’s offer.

“He is one of the most respected riders in the peloton for his unwavering work ethic and strong values. He is consistent and dependable, two essential qualities for a top-notch herd player. Carlos has 12 years of experience in the WorldTour, but both the team and the cyclist believe that he can take a step forward with the environment that Lidl-Trek will provide”, pointed out the head of the American team, Luca Guercilena.
