Madurai: The CBI has filed a case under eight sections against the ‘People’s Watch’ charity in Madurai for fraudulently accepting donations from abroad.

If charities in India are to receive donations from abroad, they must comply with federal regulations and obtain a license to do so.

The federal government is taking action against charities that do not follow such rules properly. Even recently, more than 12,000 charities in the country lost permission to receive donations from abroad.
