After terminating his contract with OGC Nice, the Danish goalkeeper will bounce back in Belgium.
Kasper Schmeichel has already found a new base. Recently released from his last year of contract in Nice, after a disappointing 2022-23 season, the 36-year-old Danish international goalkeeper signed up for one year for Anderlecht on Tuesday. In Belgium, he will find his compatriots Kasper Dolberg (also ex-Niçois), Thomas Delaney and Anders Dreyer. “I chatted with Jesper and Brian and was immediately excited about what they are putting together here. RSCA is a great club and many former teammates still speak of this club with full of praise and warmth. So I really wanted to be a part“, savors the interested party.
«We were already satisfied with the composition of the nucleus, but it was a unique opportunity to bring in a goalkeeper with so much experience and profession. The arrival of Kasper is part of our desire to create competition in all positions. Kasper can teach us a lot with his experience both on and off the pitch”, rejoices the CEO Sports of the RCSA Jesper Fredberg. Trained at Manchester City, Kasper Schmeichel spent most of his career in the colors of Leicester (479 matches) before joining Nice last summer.
