In April 2020, King Salman of Saudi Arabia and Prince Mohammed bin Salman requested that he be released on health grounds.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian Princess Basma and her daughter, who have been in prison for the past three years, have been released. The human rights group said he had not been charged despite his detention.
