A 16-year-old boy died in a collision while riding a motocross bike between Elancourt and Maurepas (Yvelines), near Versailles. The shock would have taken place after a refusal to comply. A first car was following him at a distance and a second vehicle arrived at an intersection. It was with this that the collision took place.
Two police officers were placed in police custody to be heard, before being taken to the premises of the IGPN, in Paris. It would be the drivers of the two vehicles involved in the accident, indicates the prosecutor’s office of Versailles. An investigation for involuntary injuries by driver and another for refusal to comply have been opened.
The young man was very quickly taken care of by officials and then by the emergency services. He was in cardiopulmonary arrest when the firefighters and the Samu arrived. At 7:30 p.m. his condition was deemed desperate and he was transported in critical condition to Beaujon hospital in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine). His death occurred in the evening and was announced around 11 p.m.
The circumstances of the collision still unclear
The course of the accident was still unclear on Wednesday evening. At the end of the day, the police in the area received on their airwaves the report of a young person traveling on two wheels. The latter is seen circulating between Maurepas and Elancourt, near the New Horizons district. It is not known if he was wearing a helmet.
At this stage, we still do not know precisely the circumstances of the tragedy. A hypothesis according to which the second vehicle was returning from another intervention, as happened two years ago in Vélizy-Villacoublay, was put forward at the start of the evening. “He could have hit someone’s car or whatever. It’s a total coincidence, ”says a source. But no track is excluded by the investigators of the General Inspectorate of the National Police.
Many worried residents of the neighborhood gathered at the scene a few minutes after the accident to try to understand what happened. It was decided to deploy a squadron of mobile gendarmes. The municipalities of Elancourt and Maurepas also mobilized their teams.
