à director Giuliano Montaldo died in Rome at the age of 93. He has directed over 20 films, many of which have social commitments. He remembers, among the titles, “Sacco and Vanzetti” (1971) with Gian Maria Volonté (an excerpt in this video), “Giordano Bruno”, “L’Agnese goes to die”. Born in Genoa in 1930, he is survived by his wife Vera Pescarolo — daughter of the dramatic actress Vera Vergani — and daughter Elisabetta. Among the awards received in life, the David di Donatello for his career in 2007 and in 2018 as best supporting actor for his interpretation in «Everything you want» by Francesco Bruni. The funeral, by choice of the family, will be held privately.
