Martín Burutarán is a councilor of the National Party in Salto for the Aire Fresco sector.

The Mixed Technical Commission (CTM) of Salto Grande has appointed Martin Burutaran as its new president, replacing Carlos Albisu, who resigned from his position due to accusations of political clientelism made by the Frente Amplio. This decision was announced by sources from the Presidency of the Republic to the press and marks a new chapter in the management of this important institution that was involved in controversy.

Martín Burutarán, originally from the department of Salto and 37 years old, is a public accountant graduated from the Catholic University of Uruguay, with postgraduate studies in business management and administration, as well as in management and marketing.

Martín Burutarán is not unknown in the CTM Salto Grande. In November 2020, he assumed a role as a member of the Advisory Council of this technical commission. His previous experience as secretary of the CTM placed him in the front line to succeed Albisu.

Although Albisu ended up resigning from his position after dozens of people had been hired directly in the CTM, many of them co-religionists of the PN and the PC (including councilors), the organization believed that it was a good idea to place Burutarán in office.

And this is important to highlight because he was elected as councilor of the Salto Departmental Board for the period 2020-2025 by List 404 of the Fresh Air sector of the National Party.

According to press reports, the appointment of Martín Burutarán as president of the CTM Salto Grande was conditional on his resignation from the Salto Departmental Board, a step that would have materialized in the last few hours.

Both the appointment and the resignation of his political position are to be publicly confirmed by the Presidency.
