Heatwave: why we should expect later (and earlier) heat waves

Increasingly hot summers, but not only. 14 departments – those in the Île-de-France and Centre-Val de Loire regions – have been placed, since this Friday noon, on orange alert for heat waves. They should remain so until Sunday: no drop in temperatures is expected before Monday. The thermometer could for example reach up to 35 ° C three days in a row in Paris. Above all, it is the first time since 2004 and the creation of this alert system that the orange level has been triggered in September. That is to say after the meteorological summer which runs from June to August.
