Huawei has announced the Mate X5, its new horizontal folding screen mobile phone, refining its design and improving various features. Folded it is a device that measures 156.9 mm × 72.4 mm × 11.08 mm, while unfolded it measures 156.9 mm × 141.5 mm × 5.3 mm, so it is quite thin. Its weight is about 245 g. The structure is made waterproof with IPX8 certification.
The external screen is 16.3 cm (6.4 in) OLED type with a resolution of 2504 × 1080 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The internal one is 19.9 cm (7.85 in) OLED type, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz in the 12 GB model, or adaptable up to 120 Hz in the model with 16 GB of RAM.
The processor is not directly indicated by Huawei but it is mentioned in some Chinese media that it is the Kirin 9000S manufactured at 7 nm by SMIC, which is giving the US Minister of Commerce a headache because the sanctions on Huawei have not worked. It has versions with 512 GB of storage and 1 TB, in addition to including the company’s NM card reader.
The battery is 5060 mAh with 66 W fast charging, 50 W wireless charging and 7.5 W reverse wireless charging. It includes a USB type C with DisplayPort video signal. They have NFC, 802.11ax Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2; There is no mention of 5G, but one imagines it will include it. The front camera is 8 Mpx and ƒ/2.4. The rear camera system includes a 50 Mpx and ƒ/1.8 sensor with OIS, a 13 Mpx and ƒ/2.2 ultra-wide angle sensor, and a 12 Mpx and ƒ/3.4 five-fold optical zoom.
It has no price, but those who want it can reserve it in China after depositing 1,000 yuan.
