A IRS made available this Friday, the 8th, more than 30 thousand pieces of clothing, footwear, hygiene items, bed and bath items; which together are valued at approximately R$6 million. These items will be distributed to families affected by the floods that hit the municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul. Due to this situation that led to the declaration of public calamity, the agency decided to donate the goods that were seized in the Southern States – Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. The pieces will begin to be delivered in the next few days, according to the Federal Revenue Service .

According to figures released by Rio Grande do Sul’s Civil Defense at 6pm this Friday, 8.41 people died and 46 were missing due to the cyclone. Muçum is the most affected municipality, with 15 deaths. Next come Roca Sales (10), Cruzeiro do Sul (4), Lajeado (3), Estrela and Ibiraiaras (2) and Encantado, Imigrante, Mato Castelhano, Passo Fundo and Santa Tereza (1). According to the agency, 3,130 people were rescued and 223 were injured because of the rains. The total number of citizens affected by the storms is 147,341. The total number of homeless people is 3,193, while the number of displaced people reaches 8,256.
