Applied Materials has announced the appointment of Rafi Ben-Ami as CEO of the Process Diagnostics and Control Division – PDC, which is the company’s R&D and production center in Israel. Ben Ami will take office in early February 2022. He replaces Ofer Greenberg, who has served as CEO of PDC for the past five years.

Greenberg has been appointed senior vice president of the global company and will lead the business development of chip manufacturing process control systems. He will also continue to serve as President of the Israeli PDC Division, and will focus in this context mainly on business development and external relations with government officials and academia in Israel. Rafi Ben Ami joined Applied Materials about 9 years ago and held various management positions. In his most recent role, he managed the range of product-business activities of the PDC Division.

Prior to joining Applied from Tirillas, Ben Ami held senior management positions at Comverse and Nice. Greenberg joined Applied Materials in 2015, after three years managing Orbit Communications Systems from Netanya. Prior to that, he served for about 8 years as CEO of KLA Israel, which operates from Migdal Haemek.
