“Kick Off Activity ‘Far as Near’ Mae Suai Unjai NCD@Home’ Promotes Remote Healthcare in Chiang Rai Province”

Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai Province – In a move to improve healthcare access for remote communities, Mr. Udom Pongbawornkul, the Mae Suai District Chief, chaired the opening of the Kick Off activity “Far as Near” Mae Suai Unjai NCD@Home” and a workshop aimed at developing the potential of village health volunteers. The event took place at the Ban Huai Nam Khun Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital in Tha Ko Subdistrict.
The target group for this initiative includes village health volunteers and community health leaders from six villages in the Huai Nam Khun Royal Project Development Center area. The main objective of the program is to establish a system for caring for patients with chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in remote areas of Mae Suai District. Additionally, it aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of village health volunteers and community health leaders in following up and checking the health of chronically ill patients.
The organizers introduced the use of Health Kit Set technology and the Eat – Live – Well application to facilitate data recording and improve healthcare services. Through these tools, village health volunteers and community health leaders will be able to monitor and care for chronically ill patients without requiring them to travel long distances to access healthcare facilities.
The event was organized by the Mae Suai District Health Service Network, which includes the Mae Suai Provincial Public Health Office, Mae Suai Hospital, and Ban Huai Nam Khun Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital. The Learning Innovation Center (LIC) from the Chiang Rai Provincial Public Health Office also collaborated in organizing the activity.
