The Museum of the Word and Image (MUPI) has begun a consultation process on the thematic interests that its various audiences may have for the creation of a new exhibition on the contemporary history of El Salvador.
The consultation process began in August 2023, with groups of veterans beneficiaries of the program “Attention to War Veterans, Ex-Combatants and Victims of Serious Human Rights Violations” of the Ministry of Health (MINSAL), from the municipalities from Santa Tecla and Cuscatancingo. In the first days, 38 people participated, who took a guided tour of the headquarters, talked about the topics they expect in the new exhibition and reflected on the importance of recognizing our history. Afterwards, they did a practical session on self-care and relaxation techniques.
The consultation process will continue in the following months to include the ideas and interests of children, youth, teachers, communities and other groups that are integrated into the various activities carried out by the museum. Activities within the framework of the “PEACE” and “Promotion of historical memory and human rights work” projects supported by TDH Germany and AGIAMONDO-SCP.
