This comment has not left anyone indifferent and his critics have recalled that his son, Nicolás Petro, confessed that he received money that was later used to pay for his father’s campaign and acknowledged, according to prosecutor Mario Burgos, having received “high sums of money” by Samuel Santander Lopesierra, alias “The Malboro Man”, money from drug trafficking.
