Not even a month after putting more than 20,000 people on Sant Antoni beach, theDi-Versions Orchestra he’s ready for a new spree: Diverland is back, or as they say themselves, “city of fun”, next weekend, at the International Calonge campsite. It will be the fourth edition of a festival co-organized with the production company U98 which aims to make one nostalgic look at the 80s, the youth and adolescence of the band members and many of their followers. Diverland will open its doors on Friday evening and until Sunday afternoon will offer music, workshops, children’s activities, games and, promoters say, a lot of fun. The tickets, there are two types, one-day passes, or a pass with accommodation at the campsite for all three, are practically sold out.

“The public’s expectations are met, we have almost no tickets left”, he explains Jordi Puig, from the production company and record label U98, which organizes the festival alongside Di-Versiones and the Sènia Internacional campsite. In fact, the origin of Diverland is during Puig’s stay at a campsite, when suddenly, “washing the dishes”, he thought it would be impactful to put on a show like the one they have been organizing for four years Calonge “The goal is for people to disconnect, that together we create a single community with people of very different ages, because there are families with children and older people,” he adds. One of the novelties of this year is the Guateque Fluor Party which will take place on Saturday night, in Cala Gogó, after the Di-Versiones Orchestra concert (8pm). “It will be a party from the 80s, with striking colors, it will be very cool”, says one of the managers of Diverland.

All editions have filled and this one too apunta a sold out. The organizers hope to continue consolidating the festival and that the editions will follow each other. Beyond the music, another attraction this year will be the presence of a reproduction of the legendary Delorean from Back to the Future, or the performance of a dance group that will recreate the battles of “A todo break” from the program Touch of TVE. In addition, there will be a dance workshop to recreate John Travolta and Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction, circus and armband workshops, and the presence of a train that will tour the entire installation.

Diverland will start on Friday with the performance of Litus 3 (8pm), the reading of the proclamation and Frikibingo (10pm). The next day’s main event is Di-Versiones (8pm), but before that, Big Mouthers, Joan Colomo and Radiofórmula and the Bufatramuntana troupe will have performed, among others. The Pelukass concert (12 noon) will be held on Sunday as a preamble to the Diver-paella that will close the celebration. “It’s a weekend to forget the headaches and have a good time”, concludes Jordi Puig.
