Vijayawada High Court Adjourns Chandrababu Naidu’s Bail Plea Hearing: Ill Health Cited as Grounds

by time news

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s bail plea has been adjourned by the Vijayawada High Court until tomorrow, September 12. Naidu, who is facing a corruption case involving Rs. 371 crore, was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days on Sunday.

Naidu’s legal team filed a petition on his behalf, citing his ill health as a reason to grant him bail. The petition also requested house arrest as an alternative to imprisonment. However, the Crime Investigation Division police, who presented Naidu in the Anti-Corruption Division Court in Vijayawada, reported that he was not cooperating with the investigation. Following this, the court ordered his remand in judicial custody.

The Andhra Pradesh government argued in court that adequate medical facilities have been arranged for Naidu in the jail itself. As a result, they believe granting him bail is unnecessary.

The Vijayawada Special Anti-Corruption Court also asserted that Naidu should not be granted bail, further complicating the matter.

The situation surrounding Naidu’s bail plea and his health condition continue to develop. The court’s decision on tomorrow’s hearing will be eagerly awaited by both his supporters and critics.
