Big mess on the A86. Around 6:45 p.m., two vehicles caught fire at the Nogent-sur-Marne tunnel (Val-de-Marne), thus blocking traffic on this outer portion of the A86 motorway. Nine people were injured following this incident, the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP) reported to Le Parisien on Monday evening, confirming news information. Among them, one person was taken to hospital in absolute emergency.

According to the real-time traffic information site Sytadin, the incident took place this Monday at 6:44 p.m. Two vehicles caught fire at the Nogent tunnel, requiring the intervention of more than 120 firefighters and 35 machines according to Actu. The fire was extinguished around 8:15 p.m., specifies the same source.

The BSPP confirms to Le Parisien that emergency services were still on site at 10 p.m. Monday evening. At this same time, Sytadin indicates that the three traffic lanes on this portion of the highway are still closed.

The smoke emanating from the burning vehicles affected several people present under the tunnel at the time of the accident. Nine people were injured following this fire. Eight, including a firefighter, are in relative emergency. The ninth person, asthmatic according to Actu and BFM TV, is she in absolute emergency. All the victims were transferred to nearby hospitals, confirms the BSPP.
