Naples, 11 September. (Labitalia) – The seventh edition of ‘Bufala Fest – not just mozzarella’ ends this evening in Naples, in Piazza Municipio, the food and wine event dedicated to the promotion and valorisation of the buffalo milk supply chain, organized by Diciassette Eventi in collaboration with the Consortium of Protection of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO and Cia – Italian Farmers of Campania, with the patronage of the Senate of the Republic, the Campania Region, the Municipality and the Metropolitan City of Naples; of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund – EMFF; of the “Federico II” University of Naples; of the University of Salerno with the Department of Pharmacy and with the Observatory on Parks and Protected Areas of Southern Italy. On the last day, the Mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi visited the Bufala Fest, who had assigned the event the task of verifying whether the new Piazza Municipio could really work for events.

“It was – commented Manfredi – a beautiful experience, with the great participation of families and tourists, in a very serene, calm and orderly atmosphere. There was no negative impact on traffic in the city centre, also thanks to the experiment of combining with the tram after leaving the car in the Brin car park, which worked. A successful experiment, therefore, and we can also imagine other initiatives in Piazza Municipio”.

A success appreciated by the organizational director Antonio Rea: “It is with great pride – said Rea – that I feel like stating that the Bufala Fest organizational machine won the bet of realizing, for the first time, a great event in Piazza Municipio . Every evening we recorded the sold out of all those who came to taste the great flavors of mozzarella and buffalo meat. Focusing on Piazza Municipio proved us right for the public who was able to happily reach the Bufala Fest thanks to the Anm service from the Brin car park and the proximity of the exhibition to the Metro Line 1 stop, to the Centrali and Montesanto funiculars, to the Line 2 and to Cumana”.

“It was thus a five-day celebration – he continued – in the heart of the city without bringing traffic and pollution. This is not only a personal victory, but it is the victory of the city of Naples and of the thousands of visitors, coming from every part of the world, who filled our village every day, with joy and composure, enjoying and appreciating our excellences. “The emotions I experienced during the five days of Bufala Fest – said the artistic director Francesco Sorrentino – are nothing short of unique and indescribable. Seeing children, young people, adults and the elderly all together playing and singing every day around the “suspended” piano, which we had positioned in the center of the village in memory of Giogiò, was a beautiful image, the most representative snapshot of this seventh edition. that I will always carry inside me.
