The dominance of the Jumbo-Visma materializes once again. With the victory of Jonas Vingegaard in Bejes during the 16th stage of the Vuelta, the Dutch team gleaned a fourth success and further concretized its strength. Starting 4 kilometers from the finish, on slopes averaging 8.5%, the Dane won alone, winning his second stage of this Tour of Spain.

The two-time winner of the Tour de France regained second place in the general classification from his teammate Primoz Roglic. Vingegaard is now 29 seconds behind Sepp Kuss. The usual gregario of the Jumbo, still in red jersey, lost ground but finished in 10th place in the stage, four seconds behind Roglic (8th). The Slovenian, now third, is 1′33″ behind Kuss. But he is still one minute ahead of Juan Ayuso (UAE), first representative of the “rest of the world”.

With this new demonstration of collective strength, the Jumbo has taken another step towards a hat-trick on the podium of this Vuelta, five days before the final arrival in Madrid. These three different maps also confirm that, barring disaster, the Dutch team will achieve another treble, winning the three Grand Tours of the season, after the victories of Roglic in the Giro and Vingegaard in the Tour.
