Internet: The tricky fiber optic error – This can become a problem for customers

The federal government’s goal: every household in Germany should have such ultra-fast access by 2030. The telecommunications industry is happy to agree. In its market analysis of the current status of fiber optic expansion, the Federal Association of Broadband Communications (Breko) sees Germany “on the right track”. This means that fiber optic connections are available into buildings or apartments for 17.3 million households, companies and public institutions – more than a third of Germany.

But that is only the half truth. Because the numbers do not reflect the number of fiber optic connections.
