So not only at Ariel University, many students across the country are turning to the abolition of learning and frontal examination due to the Corona failure in Israel. This is a small glimpse into what is happening around the country, completely ignoring the danger of exposure of thousands to the corona virus, which mass infection chains apparently do not deter anyone in the education systems in Israel.
For example, at the Azrieli College of Engineering in Jerusalem, young people studying at the college applied to the student association to change the layout of the exams, which the administration decided to hold without any consideration for the students studying there.
Students at the college wrote to News 0404: “We are trying to act on the outline but without a response. The outline proposed, fatally violates our academic rights. The college legally requires us to be tested frontally on Sundays, when infection rates break records. ‘In 3 months? Or to infect the child in Corona ??? Fatal injury in an academic sequence, B dates are a matter of routine, to get the student to be tested on B about three months after A ?? Assuming then there will be no illness? In moments of crisis “In hand, and get out of the crisis together and even get stronger from it. We chose to study in college because we were promised a personal treatment and a constant response to our problems, our college only makes the conditions worse.”
“The purity of the exams is no more important than the right to health and life” – the students at Sapir College are also trying to make it heard. Students at the college wrote to 0404 News: “Following the insistence on frontal learning at Sapir College in Sderot in the Department of Computer Science, there was a case of mass infection in Corona.
In our department there is a preparation for hybrid learning but despite the insistence of the head of the department we came to frontal learning. At the moment, only in our yearbook in the Department of Computer Science, more than ten patients have been found in less than a week, and the hand is still outstretched !!! Of course these patients did not know they were positive and as a result the infection continued at home and at the risk of their family members.
After our repeated inquiries to the Department of Computer Science the opacity towards the students’ health condition continues and we are left unanswered. We are just before the test period and our request was to take the exams online but there is a directive to take exams frontally without any consideration for our health condition. There are a host of students who are in isolation and will not be able to take some of the tests because of the mass infection that has occurred. The response of the Department of Computer Science was opaque, completely insensitive and we did not receive any appropriate response to our request! I will quote the head of the department “Sit at home for a week and get to the exam safely, I really do not understand what the problem is.
The students at Ariel University also intensified their struggle and appealed to the management of the institution: “We demand solutions for the upcoming exam period until tomorrow. Otherwise, the association will also openly and officially fight against the conduct of the institution.” Of course the students were left unanswered and are currently embarking on an open and official struggle.
