In the eighth round of the Campeonato Paulista, Basquete Tricolor beat Franca 93 to 89, at Pedrocão, in Franca, and took away the Francans’ unbeaten record. The highlights of the match were Coelho (17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists), Fischer (17 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists) and Miller (17 points and 4 rebounds).
In a very balanced start, Basquete Tricolor took the lead and the first quarter ended 20-16 for the visitors. In the second period, the home team got on the scoreboard and took the lead, finishing the stage 33 to 24.
At the break, the dispute was fierce, but São Paulo adjusted the attack, intensified the pace and the third quarter ended 30 to 16 for Tricolor. Bruno Mortari’s team knew how to manage the difference on the scoreboard and, despite losing the last period by 24 to 19, came out with the victory.
The clash was the last in the first phase of the state championship for the São Paulo team and guaranteed Tricolor’s classification for the next stage. Now, the teams are waiting for the duel between Paulistano x Bauru so that the second round of the state championship, called realignment, can begin.
