Following the great success of the opening match, the fan zone located at Place de la Concorde (8th arrondissement) will be extended for France’s second match in this World Cup, against Uruguay on Thursday, announced the Police Prefecture. from Paris in a press release on Wednesday.

The Rugby Village will open its doors from 2 p.m., while the match, played in Lille, will kick off at 9 p.m. Access is free within the limit of the maximum capacity.

Traffic around the square will be severely disrupted. It will only be possible in one place, from rue Royale to Pont de la Concorde until 12 p.m. Thursday, then Friday between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. Traffic will resume normal activity thereafter. The Police Prefecture advises against traveling “in the Paris Center/Concorde sector”.

Concorde (lines 1, 8 and 12) and Tuileries (line 1) metro stations will be closed from 12 p.m. on Thursday. A large bicycle parking lot with 500 spaces has also been set up on rue de Rivoli.
