Milicic remains committed to the development of the communities where it operates, offering opportunities for the development of professional skills of its inhabitants. For this reason, training sessions on “Driving heavy vehicles and operating equipment” were provided at the Milicic Mining Headquarters, province of San Juan.
This training was carried out with the objective of reaffirming the knowledge of existing personnel and conducting tests on new drivers and road machinery operators who will join the headquarters staff for the Veladero Phase 7B Project. In addition, it allows drivers and equipment operators to have technical knowledge of defensive driving and, above all, to prioritize safety.
45 people attended, who were divided into two groups, morning and afternoon. They were coordinated by Leila Moreno, HR Analyst, and dictated by Yohana Alcayaga, HS&MA Technician, Rubén Castro, HS&MA Technician, Elio Bórquez, Team Supervisor, and Sergio Yacante.
“The objective of this training is to be able to demonstrate and verify that the drivers who are part of our company are trained and trained in defensive driving skills, always prioritizing safety, this being a key factor, not only in Mining but to do so extensively. to the other projects that the company has throughout the country. As for the new candidates who join, it is essential to be able to provide them with the tools from the beginning of their work career at Milicic so that they contribute their best performance to the projects,” said Leila Moreno.
In this training, circuits for maneuvers, ramps and material collections were generated to represent the different scenarios found in the mine. A practical evaluation was carried out through ground movement maneuvers where the technical and SS&MA aspects were analyzed, in driving, loading, transferring and unloading, among others.
