The President of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (Arcep Benin), Mr. Flavien BACHABI, received in audience on Friday September 8, 2023, a delegation from the MTN Group, led by its Senior Vice-President, Mr. Ebenezer ASANTE , in charge of MTN Africa operations.

During this audience, the two personalities discussed subjects of common interest relating to the regulatory environment and developments in the digital sector. The Vice-President of the MTN Group, after highlighting the importance of Benin’s electronic communications market for his group, expressed his gratitude to the Beninese Government and the members of the ARCEP Regulatory Council for the best conditions for exercising activities of electronic communications network operators in Benin. Following the discussions, the two delegations committed to actions to promote the development of the digital economy in Benin. The discussions took place in the presence of the Vice President of Arcep Benin, Madame Carrelle TOHO and the General Director of MTN Benin, Uche Ofodile. As a reminder, according to the Evolution of active mobile subscriptions from the mobile telephony observatory in Benin, the GSM network has in the first quarter of 2023, 8,526,281 subscribers out of the 14,729,924 in total. It therefore has more subscribers than the other two mobile networks.
