La Basal is made up of a group of professionals who have found a formula that has allowed them to continue developing as performers and creators, beyond being part of other productions of their own or choreographers outside of La Basal. However, their work model responds with creativity and drive to the harsh reality that many professional dancers in Spain face every day. Yes, I am talking about those who, although they are equipped with solid training and experiences on the scenarios that support them, it is a fact that their future is still uncertain. Even so, the members of La Basal continue to grow, they continue to collect enough recognition to obtain the opportunities that have profiled them as one of the projects that I consider most promising and powerful on the Spanish contemporary scene.

Along these lines, I defend that those of us who write in the media who care about the present and the future of contemporary dance, must pay our attention and support to projects of this nature, otherwise we would be drawing an incomplete and imprecise image of reality. We are not here to dance It speaks of our need to dismantle the different codes by which our body has learned to desire, what is desirable and what desire is. We want to locate ourselves in another totally empty starting point that allows us to explore the relationship between body and desire in a more personal and honest way.

What produces desire in our body? Do we manifest desire solely through physical arousal? Does there have to be a body for there to be desire? Where does desire come from? If desire is affection, desire, longing, does our body react in the same way to these emotions?
