USM Alger wins the African Super Cup

The Algerian club USM Alger won the African Super Cup by beating the Egyptian club Al Ahly (1-0) on Friday, after a match played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

USM Alger, who won thanks to a goal from Belaid on a penalty (43rd), became the second Algerian team to lift the African Super Cup after ES Sétif in 2015. The Algerians had won the African Cup. CAF Confederation last season and the Egyptians were crowned in the CAF Champions League.
