The Freiburg Stem Cell File of the University Hospital is starting a new campaign with typing campaigns at sports clubs. It starts today on World Bone Marrow Donation Day.
“Become a playmaker” is the title of the campaign, which aims to raise awareness of stem cell donations. The heart of the campaign, which runs until March 2024, is typing campaigns at sports clubs in order to recruit as many new “playmakers” as possible in the fight against blood cancer. The university clinic informs about this in a press release. The typing campaigns should be advertised through posters, flyers and social media posts. “Every registration as a stem cell donor has the chance to save a person’s life and thus change the ‘game’,” says Julia Braun, who heads the Freiburg stem cell file at the University Hospital.
The South Baden Football Association and the South Baden Handball Association support the campaign. The first clubs have already registered for typing campaigns. SC Freiburg is also taking part and is sponsoring the “Fairways Sponsorship Prize” worth 4,000 euros.
