They are not houses, they are offices. Those next to the old and practically demolished Camp Nou are not houses. And Barça shows its satisfaction with the work that has been undertaken since last June 1. Regarding the initial schedule, as club sources have revealed, they are almost two weeks ahead of the planned plan. However, it remains to receive the building license from Barcelona City Council, which would allow the construction of the new Camp Nou.

They are not apartments, as had been said, but offices where the construction management is housed, both from Limak, the Turkish company that builds it, and from Barça itself, which houses the architects, surveyors, and technicians who work in such monumental work. Offices that are even beginning to become small because the volume will increase as the months go by.

430 workers in the stadium

At the moment, there are 430 workers who go to the stadium every day to finish its demolition, a step prior to construction. They have, as happens in any work of this magnitude, some buildings on the north side, next to the side, near the old Masia Can Planes where they eat and have the relevant toilets.

Meanwhile, six gigantic cranes will begin to dominate the landscape of what was once the Camp Nou. They belong to Limak, but came from China, where they were on another project. The first of these cranes has already been cemented. It will reach a height of almost 70 meters. And the second is now in the foundation phase.

The idea is to return to the new Camp Nou in November 2024. By then, the Museum and the Botiga, which will be inside the venue, will also be open

In a few weeks they will dominate the ‘sky line’ of what was the old Camp Nou. These two weeks of advance on the initial roadmap allow the club to calmly await the arrival of the license from the City Council. At the board meeting, held last Tuesday, Barça already announced that the directors “had been informed that the demolition work on the third stand” was on the right track, while emphasizing that it hoped that “in the future “The third license will be received in the next few weeks, which will allow construction work on the new Spotify Camp Nou.”

Up to 1,000 workers

The idea that Barça maintains is to return to the new stadium in November 2024, even if it is only with 60% of the capacity. And until June 2026, total construction will alternate with sports activity. But when Xavi’s team returns to its new home, the Museum and the Botiga will also remain open, essential factors in the economic reconstruction of the entity.

That is to say, within 14 months not only the stadium would open but also the emotional engines (Museu) and commercial (Botiga) that would make the daily activity rotate, even if the capacity is not reached one hundred percent, with everything already finished, until almost three years from now.

In these coming weeks, the old Camp Nou will be completely liquidated (only the upper part of the grandstand remains), before the Turkish cranes dominate the scene to begin construction, where in its peak period up to 1,000 workers will be able to work together. .
