The concentration of these boats, which have left Cubelles, has attracted participants from 27 nautical clubs Catalans but also from Valencia and abroad (Germany, Austria, Belgium and France).

The Catalan skate was born 100 years ago in Badalona and it is peculiar because it has no rudder, daggerboard or boom. The yachtsman of the Sitges Nautical Club, Yannick Márquez, won the exhibition regatta, followed by Quim Esteba, from Club Nàutic Tamariu, and, third, Ramon Puigoriol (Club Nàutic El Masnou). The first female qualifier was Anna Pujol, from Club Natació Barcelona, ​​tenth overall.

“A historic day”

“It has been a historic and very special day for all the skaters. It is not easy to bring together more than 200 participants and it has been a great opportunity to make ourselves known,” said Márquez, winner of the regatta.
