The bishops of the Panamanian Episcopal Conference (CEP) published a statement in which they point out that the Catholic faithful should not attend the services of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX), whose members are known as Lefebvristas.

In the statement, dated September 14 and released today Saturday by the Archdiocese of Panama in the red social X (formerly Twitter), the bishops write: “We notify the People of God that the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX), founded in 1970 by Monsignor Marcel Lefevbre, is not in full communion with the Catholic Church, so Catholic faithful must refrain from attending their services”.

“As for the sacraments administered in their services, the faithful are reminded that to administer sacraments the approval of the Bishop or the Ecclesial Authority is required; and By not having it, these are illegal”, they add.
