Honor announced its first folding, Magic V

by time news

After many reports, Honor has announced its first device for 2022 and it is none other than a folding device, the Honor Magic V.

Its configuration is very similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold, i.e. as an opening book. Thus, when closed, the external screen is 6.45 inches in size + Full HD resolution at a refresh rate of 120 Hz with an OLED panel in a ratio of 21: 9. When in the open position, the inner screen gives a considerable area of 7.9 inches with a resolution of 2272 × 1948 pixels, with a refresh rate of 90 Hz in an aspect ratio of 10: 9 and here too it is an OLED panel but one that folds. It’s a bigger screen than Samsung’s, but no bigger than Huawei’s Mate X2.

Its thickness when closed is 14.3 mm and when open it is 6.7 mm at the narrowest point. The company claims that the screen and the hinge have been tested for durability of 200,000 openings and closures so that the device ensures high survivability.

But the Honor Magic V is not only its first folding device, but also the first to use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which also comes with 12GB of working memory and 256 or 512GB of internal storage.

The array includes three sensors, each 50 megapixels, with the first with a wide lens, the second with an ultra-wide lens and the third designed to improve the color spectrum, although it is not clear what this actually means. The front camera sitting inside a pinhole has a 40-megapixel sensor. The Magic V also offers a battery with a capacity of 4,750 mAh, supporting fast charging of 66 watts with a charger included in the package.

The price of the Magic V in China will be 9,999 yuan, which is about 1,570 dollars (about 5,000 shekels before taxes). The sale will begin on January 18.
