The VII Camino de la Cruz Regatta, Punta Este Trophy 2023 already has new champions. Thus, in the South version with 18.4 miles of route and after obtaining the compensated times, the winner in the ORC A category was the Kawan, a First 40.7 by José Mª Guillamot, under the CN La Isleta flag. The boys from Guillamot have also taken the victory in real time, being the first to take the finish line, with their entry into Cabo de Palos at 4:00 p.m. Behind him, on the podium, were the BM Concisa (CR Mazarrón) of Jesús Sánchez and the Kalixto, of Tono Bas (CN Portmán).
As for the ORC B and C class, the podiums have been closed by Nemox-BNFIX, HMS Surprise, both from RCR of Cartagena, and the Argo Navis 3, from CR Mazarrón. Regarding fleet C, the Pinto Tercero (RCR Cartagena), a GP26, has taken the final victory, followed by the Saleroso 2.0 (CN Águilas) and the Tentotu (RCR Cartagena).
In the version from the RCN of Torrevieja, with a fleet that has exceeded 50 boats that have had to undertake a 21.10 mile route to Villa de San Pedro, Francisco Javier Reche’s Fenecio has taken the victory in compensated time, being, In addition, the first to take the finish line will be at 15.04.10 hours to do so.
Once the compensated times were obtained, Daruma by José Beltri and El Griego by José Mª Hernández, both from RCN de Torrevieja, have closed the podium in the ORC A class.
Mevilla-Jumbuck, by Olaf Kunigk with a J109, took the final victory, although he was second in the real time finish, behind Manuel Gambín’s Moti (Marina Salinas), second in the compensated race. The bronze in this ORC B class goes to the Slick of Juan López Santa Cruz, all from the RCN of Torrevieja.
In the ORC C class, the three podium places went to Patricio Valverde’s Tucana I, sailing through the Dehesa de Campoamor CN, although he was second at the finish, behind José Luis García-Molina’s Fronkonstin, which was already in compensated time. has dropped to 10th place. The silver and bronze went to Indigo (CN Villa de San Pedro) and Albana 2 (CN Los Nietos).
