At the end of the Sunday Angelus, Pope Francis asked the faithful to accompany him with their prayers during his next apostolic trip to Marseille, where he will participate, on Friday, in the conclusion of the event ““Mediterranean Encounters” which takes place from September 22 to 23, 2023.
“On Friday, I will head to Marseille to participate in the conclusion of the Mediterranean Meetingsa beautiful initiative that is carried out in important cities of the Mediterranean, bringing together ecclesiastical and civil leaders to promote paths of peace, collaboration and integration around the Mediterranean Sea, with special attention to the migratory phenomenon.
From the window of the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican before the thousands of faithful and pilgrims gathered, the Pontiff explained the reasons for his next trip from Rome to Marseille, which will last only two days, and in which program A meeting is scheduled with the French president, Emmanuel Macron, in the Pharo Palace of the port city, located in the south of France.
