President Ersin Tatar said, “Our greatest responsibility towards our veterans, martyrs and children is to glorify, develop and protect our state.”

President Tatar published a message on the occasion of September 19, Veterans Day.

Tatar stated that they celebrated the anniversary of the day when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was given the title of “Gazi” by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on September 19, 1921, as “Veterans Day”, together with the Turkish nation, with great enthusiasm and pride.

Emphasizing that the Turkish nation established states as a result of the struggles of the beloved martyrs and veterans who fought for the homeland and protected its flag, freedom and future under all circumstances, President Tatar said, “Today, the Turkish Cypriots protect their sovereignty and freedom in their own state, with the awareness of the spiritual heritage inherited from their ancestors.”

President Tatar noted that in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and freedom that has been going on for more than a century in Cyprus, the Turkish Cypriot people have achieved freedom and peace with the Cyprus Peace Operation carried out by the guarantor country and motherland, the Republic of Turkey.

Emphasizing that “Our greatest responsibility towards our veterans, martyrs and children is to glorify, develop and protect our state,” President Tatar said:

“With these feelings and thoughts, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, our Leader Dr. “While I remember with mercy and respect our martyrs who gave their lives for an honorable life during the years of the national struggle, especially Fazıl Küçük and our Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş, and our veterans who passed away, I express my gratitude to our living veterans and wish them a healthy life.”
