Do you want to watch Young Boys against Leipzig this Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. from France? This will unfortunately not be possible, as for the rest of the Swiss club’s group matches. “Following a decision by the DGCCRF (Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control, Editor’s note), we must today refrain from broadcasting the Young Boys Berne matches in the UEFA Champions League” , indicated BeIN Sport on X, formerly Twitter.

“According to the DGCCRF, any broadcast showing one of the sponsors of this team would constitute prohibited advertising,” continues BeIN, in reference to the Plus500 trading site which appears on the jerseys of the Bern club. Plus500 is a financial transactions platform registered in Cyprus whose website is accompanied by a banner warning of the “high risk of rapid loss of capital”.

Already last season, BeIN Sports had to suspend the broadcast of Atalanta Bergamo matches in the Italian championship for the same reasons. The platform is also sponsor of the Chicago Bulls, in the North American basketball championship (NBA), and Legia Warsaw, in the Polish football championship.

Young Boys Bern are placed in Group G of the Champions League, with Manchester City, RB Leipzig and Red Star Belgrade. Lack of excitement for French football fans, it will therefore not be possible to watch the double confrontations against the reigning European champion and against the German club where some former Ligue 1 leaders play (Openda, Lukeba, Simons, Henrichs , Bitshiabu or Simakan).

In the event of qualification for the round of 16 of C1 or a transfer to the Europa League, the same problem will arise again.
