Oryol Region will be the first in Russia to abolish QR codes – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

by time news

Oryol authorities from January 15 plan to cancel QR codes in the region for access to public places.

– As I said earlier, the issue of canceling the codes from January 15 will be considered this Thursday at a meeting of the regional headquarters. QR codes have completed their task. Until the situation with the coronavirus changes, I think there is no point in keeping them, ” said the head of the region, Andrei Klychkov, on Instagram.

At the same time, the governor drew attention to the fact that during the New Year holidays, the rate of vaccination has noticeably decreased and urged residents of Orlov to be vaccinated. They do not guarantee complete protection against the latest strains of COVID-19, but they significantly reduce the severity of the disease.

Now in the Oryol region, a QR code is required to access non-food shops, cafes and fitness centers.
