Police Investigate Shooting Deaths of Family of Four in Romeoville, Illinois
On Sunday night, a quiet community outside Chicago was left shaken as police discovered the bodies of a family of four, including two children, in their home. The shooting deaths occurred in Romeoville, Illinois, located about 30 miles southwest of Chicago. Authorities have determined that this was not a random incident.
The victims have been identified as Alberto Rolon, 38, Zoraida Bartolomei, 32, and their two boys, ages 7 and 9. The Will County Coroner’s Office provided these details about the deceased. Police were initially alerted to the situation when one of the family members did not show up for work on Sunday and calls from concerned relatives went unanswered.
Deputy Chief Chris Burne of the Romeoville Police Department spoke to the media during a news conference, stating that the incident is being investigated as a murder case. Police do not believe it was a murder-suicide. Burne assured the public that there is no need to stay indoors, as they have determined it was not a random act.
