Minister of State for Consumer Affairs Lasantha Alagiyawanna has announced that his team is ready to step down from government at any time.
He was speaking to reporters in Colombo. He continued,
“We have always been in the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. The Sri Lanka Freedom Party is not just the party’s 14 parliamentarians. The party has an executive council and a central executive committee.
We will abide by any decision taken by the Central Executive Committee. This is what I presented to the Central Executive Committee three months ago. However, we will not go after the United People’s Force or Sajid Premadasa.
Similarly, we will not go to the Sri Lanka People’s Alliance. We will be within the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. However, the party is currently facing criticism from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), Sarath Fonseka and the PA.
The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has come under criticism. We do not need to be criticized by anyone. We do not pay attention to them. Our party has its own policy and position. ”
