McLaren continues to build its Formula 1 team for the future. With Lando Norris under contract until 2025, now Oscar Piastri has renewed until the 2026 season.
“The McLaren Formula 1 team is pleased to announce the extension of the multi-year contract with Oscar Piastri until the end of 2026, further extending the partnership and cementing his long-term future with the team,” says the papaya team note.
And the Australian has taken advantage of his renewal to throw a dart at his former team, Alpine. “Contract announcement without stress, as always…”, wrote the Australian pilot.

Last summer was crazy for the Alpine team. First the departure of Fernando Alonso to Aston Martin, then the announcement without Piastri’s consent and finally the arrival of Pierre Gasly.
The Australian had signed with McLaren, leaving behind the Alpine team, which had negotiated in two ways with Alonso and Piastri… and was finally left without either of them.
