Violent images that have gone viral on social networks. As spotted Le Figaro, an RATP agent was filmed hitting a man during a check in the corridors of the Gare de l’Est metro station in Paris. In the images, which did not fail to generate discussion on X (formerly Twitter), an agent from the GPSR (Network Protection and Security Group), surrounded by several of his colleagues, punches a young man, at stomach level.

RATP, which confirmed the incident on its social networks, indicated that it had opened an internal investigation. According to the public establishment, the events took place on Tuesday September 19, around 9 p.m. “According to the agent, the individual kicked another agent, insulted him then threatened to kill him before making him fall onto a traveler’s suitcases,” RATP communicated on X. L The agent in question “filed a complaint” and the individual “handed over to the police”, she also specifies.

The GPSR’s mission is to ensure “the safety of people and property” and to protect “the company’s agents and its assets”, indicates the authority on its website. It employs some 1,000 sworn agents, authorized to carry weapons and carry out identity checks.
