The last time a pope came to Marseille was in 1533. Clement VII came to see that the marriage of the future Henry II and his niece Catherine de Medici had indeed been consummated. Suffice it to say that few people remember which officials attended the papal mass. The question, however, raises questions among politicians who are wondering whether or not they should participate in the religious ceremony of Pope Francis which will be held on Saturday at the Vélodrome stadium. Around twenty parliamentarians should attend, but it is difficult to know which ones are invited and according to what criteria.
